Miguna Miguna sues 25 top Kenyan gov’t officials

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has sued 25 top government officials for denying him his Kenyan citizenship.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i, the Attorney General Paul Kihara Kariuki, former immigration Principal Secretary Gordon Kihalangwa, Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti, Director of Public Prosecutions, former Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Transport CS James Macharia are among the 25 named in the civil case.

Miguna claims the defendants destroyed his Kenyan Passport and other property as well as removed him from Kenya without notice.

Miguna says that he was physically assaulted, abducted and detained under cruel, inhumane and degrading conditions for six days at the Githunguri Police Station which breached his constitutional, legal and human rights.

He says their actions have hindered him from working, earning a living and supporting his family and that the violations and breaches of his rights and freedoms have also denied him basic human dignity.

Miguna wants the court to find the defendants in contempt of court for disobeying separate court orders issued by various judges among them Justice Wakiaga, Luka Kimaru, Chacha Mwita, and George Odunga.
