Ministry leads national celebrations for African Public Service Day

The Ministry of Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programs has continued with the celebrations of the African Public Service Day at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

On Monday, Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, Principal Secretary, Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya, and Nairobi County woman representative Esther Passaris led the celebrations in the capital city.

''Ministry of Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programs runs the Government and ensures efficient, in all Government Services in the Republic of Kenya. This is provided by all public servants in the government who are serving the Citizens of this Republic from all corners, may it be in County Government, in all Commissions we have in Kenya, National Police Service, in our Military, the Ministry of Public Service is here to ensure services are provided to Kenyans the way Kenyans want'' Said CS Ruku

Dr. Imbunya and Pasarris visited several schools in the Nairobi including Kibera Primary School, where they distributed Sanitary Kits for girls and boxers for boys.

''We have decided to have a Kenyan chapter and this day we opened the celebrations and we decided to visit our children in schools here in Nairobi and we are providing them with Sanitary Kits for Girls and boxers for Boys.'' said PS Imbunya.

Beside Kibera Primary the team visited Joash Olum Primary, Dagoretti Mixed Secondary, Komarock Girls Primary, Mathare Primary School and Heidemare Primary and Junior Secondary where they also Distributed Sanitary Kits for girls and boxers for boys.

''We are visiting these children to show them that for the country to continue, for the economy to grow more, we need public servants, so we have come here not only to tell them but also to demonstrate to them that Public Service is what holds a country together, we are happy. And I ask Kenyans to join us in this celebration even if you are not a public servant, a Public Servant has served you like a Doctor, a Teacher,  a Nurse and many others.'' PS Imbunya emphasized.

This celebration will continue at KICC and will conclude on Thursday.
