The account with 1.4 million followers lost its legacy verification badge alongside many other organisations on April 20.
However, a tweet made on the account on Saturday at 12:23am elicited several reactions.
The tweet read, "Arsenal inawezapea mtu heart attack."
This is after Arsenal had a 3-3 Premier League thriller against Southampton on Friday.
One Kenyan on Twitter (KOT) replied saying, "This is very unprofessional. Admin use your individual account for such nonsense. Stay professional."
The DCI account replied to the user, saying, "Football is a profession like any other please upgrade."
Another KOT said, "Enyewe hamna Cha kupost. But it's allowed! Follow me I follow back."
Another user reckoned it was a parody account.
Several media organizations have lost their verification badges.
The Elon Musk-led Twitter team had also developed a gold badge months earlier as an alternative to traditional brand verification that costs $1,000 (Ksh134,131) a month.
