Mombasa-bound carriageway to be closed temporarily between Mlolongo and Athi River interchange

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary closure of the Mombasa-bound carriageway from Mlolongo to Athi River Interchange from Tuesday, July 11 to Sunday, July 16, 2023.
In a statement, KeNHA said the section will be closed between Mlolongo (near the expressway exit) to the Athi River Interchange from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am during the notice period.
“Normal traffic shall be restored daily upon completion of works at 4:30 am,” the Authority added.
KeNHA Director-General Engineer Kung'u Ndung'u said the temporary closure will pave way for ongoing maintenance along the section of the highway.
Following this, traffic will be diverted to share one adjacent lane of the dual carriageway.
“Motorists have been urged to approach the area with caution,” KeNHA stated.
Road users have at the same time been urged to follow the traffic signs and guidance as directed by traffic marshals and police.
