Mombasa gubernatorial hopeful reads malice in party nominations
Wiper Party Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant, Hezron Awiti, has accused a section of local tycoons of working with top party leaders to lock him out of the race.
Speaking at Maweni Secondary School in his Nyali Constituency on Tuesday, March 14, Awiti said that party members should be allowed to choose the popular candidate for gubernatorial seat in Mombasa County in the August 8 General Election.
This came a few hours after it was alleged that he exchanged blows with his political rival, Senator Hassan Omar, during a meeting with party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, in Nairobi.
Awiti dismissed the reports saying that differences are not resolved violently but through dialogue.
