Police hunt for MP aspirant who allegedly assaulted IEBC officials, destroyed materials
IEBC election materials received in a polling station on Monday, August 8.
Police in Khwisero Constituency, Kakamega County are searching for ANC Party parliamentary candidate Godfrey Kanoti along with two other people who allegedly invaded a polling station.
The three are said to have beaten IEBC officials at Shibinga polling station in Kisa East Ward before destroying polling materials.
Kwisero OCPD Samuel Kogo said 9 ballot boxes were destroyed in the Tuesday incident.
Mr. Kanoti is alleged to have gone into hiding after the fracas.
