MP charged with stealing pastor’s lorry, assaulting him

Mwingi Central Member of Parliament Joe Mutambu has been charged with stealing a lorry worth 3.3 million shillings belonging to controversial Helicopter of Christ Ministries Pastor, Thomas Wahome.

Mutambu, who appeared before Kibera Magistrate Bernard Ochoi, was charged with two criminal counts of stealing and assault.

In the first count, the MP is alleged to have stolen the lorry he had hired on July 15th, 2015 at Industrial Area, Nairobi.

In the second count, Mutambu is accused that on September 21st, 2015 along Muchai Drive on Ngong Road, assaulted the Pastor.

Mutambu, however, denied the charges and was released on a Ksh 300,000 cash bail.

The case will be heard on October 25th this year.
