Mudavadi has termed the manner in which the Lamu leader was taken into custody as humiliating and has warned that his coalition will review its relations with the Jubilee Alliance after the arrest.
Addressing the media in Nairobi, Mudavadi said Timamy was only being used as a scapegoat for the insecurity in Lamu County.
The angered Amani leader has now warned that arresting a governor like a common criminal is a blow to country’s devolution.
Timamy was arrested Wednesday evening over the recent killings in Mpeketoni and Kibaoni in the county.
However the governor will remain in remand at the Mombasa Port Police for the next five days after Judge Martin Muya failed to give his ruling today following a request by the State Council to remand him for 14 days pending investigations.
The governor is charged with three counts among them murder, forceful transfer of people and Terrorism.
