Mudavadi, Wetangula accuse Raila of neglecting Western region after handshake
ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi and his
Ford-Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula are now accusing ODM Leader Raila Odinga
of neglecting the Western region during the handshake period.
The leaders claimed that Odinga had
influenced the appointment of several people into government but did not
include the region.
The two spoke at Mudavadi’s Mululu home where
he hosted several leaders and residents on Friday.
The meeting provided the platform to throw
salvos at Odinga over his recent reaction to the ongoing complaints about the
national debt.
“Sisi katika eneo hili tumesaidiana sana na
wale ndugu zetu wengine…we have invested political years in them, but they have
been people who have shown a lot of ingratitude. Tunaambiwa kwamba we do not
know what we’re talking about, surely if mtu wa kitendawili anataka kuwa rais
tutazidi kubweka,” said Mudavadi.
The leaders accused Odinga of neglecting the
region during his association with President Uhuru Kenyatta under the
handshake.
In what they termed as the Mululu
Declaration, the leaders vowed to rally the region that has traditionally voted
for Odinga, to support the presidential bid of Deputy President William Ruto.
