Murkomen exposes revellers hanging out of moving car on Mombasa Road

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has called out the owner of a Mercedes car, after it was recorded driving on Mombasa Road with its occupants hanging out of the windows.

Murkomen took to social media on Monday to share the disturbing clip, and revealing the car is registered under one James Gathogo Njeri.

He said the Mercedes Benz KCX 959B class E-250, was flouting traffic rules, endangering both the occupants and other road users.

"Mr. James Gathogo Njeri this is how your car white Mercedes Benz KCX 959B class E-250 was being driven on Mombasa road in one of those “where is the Minister” moments. We are concerned and a responsible citizen has alerted us. We shall do what we must," Murkomen said.

The disturbing video was recorded by occupants of another car driving behind them, who at some point drove closer and warned the two men hanging out of the windows.

The two could be seen making merry and dancing as the car moved on the busy highway, oblivious of the danger they were exposing themselves to and to the other road users.

Even after being warned, they could be seen laughing hysterically.

This comes amid increased road accidents that have killed hundreds of Kenyans, with many calling on the government to take action to end the road carnage.

For instance, six people died on Monday morning when two vehicles collided head on on the Narok-Mulot highway.

This is after a Subaru Forester collided with a Sienta while overtaking on the busy road that connects Nairobi and South Nyanza region.

CS Murkomen has warned that action will be taken against the owner of the car and the two people seen hanging on the windows.
