My life in danger over alcohol, MP

Gichugu Member of Parliament Njogu Barua has claimed that his life is in danger owing to his move to fight illicit brew.

Speaking at ACK Kianyaga Church on Sunday, Barua said that he has received death threats due to his zealous efforts to end production and consumption of illicit brew in the area.

He noted that he will be taken to court this week for his fight against illicit liquor and second generation brews.

The MP urged residents to support him in the war against illicit brews in order to end the consumption of the banned liquor in the area.

Deputy President, who was also present at the function, did not talk about illicit brew instead choosing to focus on the on-going debate on NYS.

Ruto hit out at the opposition for allegedly opposing NYS saying the programme is aimed at improving lives of youth in the country.
