According to the associated press, the plane they were in reportedly struck a crane at the grand Bahamas ship yard.
The plane exploded on impact and crushed into the ground near a junkyard area.
The plane had nine people on board.
The Bahamas ministry transport and aviation reported that the executive jet departed the Lynden Pindling international airport in Nassau Bahamas at 4:07 pm.
It was headed to the grand Bahamas international airport, a privately owned airport in Freeport.
The ministry of transport and aviation said that the plane crashed as it made an approach to land at 5:10pm.
The nine people on board the private jet were all killed by in the crash.
The identities of the other people in the plane have not been confirmed.
The cause of the crash was not immediately determined.
A full investigation is expected to begin.
