The event is expected to draw thousands as Nairobians converge to celebrate Jamhuri Day weekend through food, music, art, and entertainment.
Held under the theme “Experience the Vibe of the City,” the festival will feature a diverse programme, including the Nairobi Street Food Festival with popular local dishes, high-energy DOBA performances, the Dunda Music Stage, live art installations, a dedicated kids’ zone, and nightly fireworks.
A major highlight of this year’s edition is the 2025 BEBA Awards, hosted in partnership with FEDCO. The awards will bring together some of Nairobi’s most iconic nganyas and senkes in what is anticipated to be the largest matatu exhibition ever staged in the capital.
The showcase featuring custom artwork, chrome finishes, LED displays, and powerful sound systems will take place on December 12 from 4pm to 7pm.
Governor Johnson Sakaja has urged residents to turn out in large numbers, saying, “Tukutane Nairobi Festival hii Jamhuri Day weekend. Karibuni!”
To keep the event accessible, ticket prices have been maintained at KSh 50 for children and KSh 100 for adults. Tickets can be purchased via USSD *647#, with additional gate sales available. No cash payments will be accepted.
The festival will run daily from 10am until late.
This year’s Nairobi Festival aims to offer a safe, family-friendly and culturally rich experience, giving residents a vibrant space to celebrate the city and mark the Jamhuri Day weekend in style.
