Naivasha: Teenager found dead after alleged fallout with the step-father

The mother and step-father of the minor were arrested two days after the incident in Maella villagethat the teenager fell and was hit by a stone on the head.

The investigating officers believe that the minor was hit by a sharp object on the head leading to his death after alleged fallout with the step-father.

The body of the teenager was found a few meters outside their gate hours after he had allegedly stolen a flash disk from one of the shops.

According to Naivasha DCIO Isaac Kiama, the parents claimed that the boy was beaten by members of the public and later set free.

He added that the step-father claimed the boy fell as he was running away from their home and was hit by a stone on the head only for the body to be discovered hours later.

“A cut on his head seemed to have been inflicted by a jembe and not a stone as claimed and we are questioning the parents over the incident,” said the DCIO.

Kiama added that they were waiting for a postmortem report which would help identify the real cause of the death.
