The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has come up with a proposed National colour-coding system for waste.

This is in a bid to ensure proper disposal and recycling of waste. It will also ensure that public and private bodies dispose of non-hazardous waste into organic and non-organic divisions.

The proposed colours are:
  •       Green for  Organic waste
  •       Blue for  Recyclable waste
  •        Black for  General waste.

Public members have been asked to share their sentiments on the new proposal before August 16, 2024.
