Nightmare traffic on Thika Road after trailer overturns

An accident on Thika Road caused a huge traffic snarl-up on Friday leaving thousands of motorists and commuters stranded.

According to police reports, a trailer overturned on Wangari Maathai Road in the wee hours of the morning.

Motorists on the busy highway were rerouted to the Central Business District after the crucial road was rendered impassable.

The snarl up began as far as Kahawa Wendani all the way to the CBD.

Some motorists took to Twitter to express their dismay over the incident.

“All cars seem to have abandoned Thika Road to Juja Road… Mess. Tears. We shall have to eat our packed lunch here today,” one Juma G tweeted.
