Nine band members die after boat capsizes in Lake Victoria

Nine members of a local Ohangla band have died after a boat they were travelling in capsized at Liunda in Bondo Sub-County, Lake Victoria on Saturday.

The band members were among 17 people who were aboard the boat and were heading to Ndeda Island for a performance.

The eight other passengers have been rescued.
