The beheaded body of a Grade 5 pupil
from Gwa Chobe village in Kinangop, Nyandarua County, was on Sunday found dumped
in a dam.
The girl went missing on Saturday after she
was sent by her mother to buy house supplies from a nearby shop, according to
locals.
She did not return home hours later,
prompting her family and neighbours to search for her throughout
the night.
“We went from homestead to the other
searching for her but we could not find her, only to find her body on Sunday,
beheaded and dumped in a dam. Why does one do such an act?” said area resident, Beth Muthoni.
Locals have called on investigative
agencies to ensure culprits are brought to book.
“We cannot live in fear of sending our
children to the shops because they will be slaughtered. The government has to
intervene and stop this,” another resident, Susan Njeri, added.
The girl’s body was retrieved from the dam and
moved to the Engineer Sub-County hospital morgue.
