ODM postpones Migori, Homa Bay primaries
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has postponed the party primaries for Homa Bay and Migori Counties scheduled for Friday, April 21 to Monday April 24, 2017.
According to the party Executive Director, Oduor Ong’wen, the nominations will now be carried out together with Siaya and Kisumu Counties slated for the same day.
This comes barely two days after the party yet again postponed nominations in five coastal counties from Wednesday, April 19 to Saturday, April 22.
The party also rescheduled primaries in parts of Trans Nzoia, Kajiado, Nakuru, Nyamira and Taita Taveta counties due to poll hitches during Tuesday’s exercises.
In a statement, ODM National Elections Board Chairperson, Judith Pareno, said moving the planned primaries in Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Tana River and Lamu to Saturday was due to unforeseen hitches.
Meanwhile, the opposition National Super Alliance leaders are expected to make a major statement concerning the coalition’s state of affairs at the Bomas of Kenya.
