ODM postpones primaries in parts of Mombasa

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has postponed the repeat exercise in 19 polling stations in six Wards in Mombasa County, after a hitch was detected on ballot papers.

NEB Commissioner in charge of the exercise, Edward Nyale, pushed the exercise to Saturday, April 29 following the mix up in the names on the ballot papers.

Meanwhile, the party will embark on the final stretch of party primaries in Shinyalu Constituency, South Mugirango, Nakuru Town West , Ibeno and Birongo Wards in Nyaribari Chache Constituency, two wards in Turkana County and 10 wards in Uasin Gishu County.

In the meantime, the Board is awaiting the report by the three-man team sent to Migori and Homa Bay Counties on a fact-finding mission with regard to the mishandling of results after the primaries.
