ODM’s Ochilo Ayacko floors 8 aspirants to win Migori Governor seat

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has
scooped both the Migori County Governor and Senator seats, with its candidates Ochilo
Ayacko and Eddy Oketch respectively emerging victorious in the races.
Ayacko
floored eight of his opponents in the Governor race after garnering 175,226
votes, beating out his closest competitor, DAP-K’s John Pesa who had 126,171
votes.
Dalmas
Otieno of Jubilee Party came third with 21,164 votes, followed by independent
candidate Philip Mwabe (12,135 votes), UDA’s Rebecca Maria (6,563) UPIA’s Jane
Moronge (5,994), Joseph Ngao (1,455), Boaz Okoth (1,123) and Byron Oginga
(578).
In the Senate
contest which attracted three aspirants, ODM’s Eddy Oketch won with a
resounding 295,228 votes.
Christopher
Sophia Rocklynne of Jubilee Party came second with 27,682 votes followed by Billy
Mijungu with 14,735 votes.
At the
same time, in the Woman Representative category, independent aspirant Fatuma
Mohamed carried the day amassing 154,538 votes beating out ODM’s Denittah Ghati
who came in second place with 117,591 votes.
Independent
candidate Hellen Odie followed with 39,054 votes then Josephine Sirega
(13,346), Zilpha Audline Ochuodho (12,152) and Jubilee Party’s Lilian Akugo
came sixth scoring 8,639 votes.
