One dead, several injured in multiple-car accident on the Nairobi Expressway

The 10 PM accident that occurred at the Mlolongo Toll station involved several vehicles.

According to the Kenya National Highways Authority, a motorist who was exiting the toll station was driving at a high speed and crashed into a Toll booth and other vehicles. 

“The motorist crashed into the Toll Plaza and ran over other vehicles that were being cleared to exit. Consequently the vehicle knocked one toll booth and injuring one toll attendant besides the other motorists,” the authority said in a statement on Sunday morning.

Citizen Digital has established that the driver of the over speeding vehicle died on the spot while two passengers who were on board sustained serious injuries.

The injured persons were rushed to nearby hospitals, and are said to be responding well to treatment.

However, KENHA has announced closure of the Mlolongo Toll station exit, assuring motorists that they will put in place measures to avert such incidences.

Motorists are further advised to avoid over speeding on the newly built infrastructure.
