One person killed, 15 hurt in Samburu crash

One person has been confirmed dead and 15 others seriously injured after a grisly road accident at Nomotio area along the Maralal-Loosuk road.

According to Samburu Central OCPD Abagoro Guyo, the Loibornkare  bound Landrover lost control downhill as the driver was negotiating a corder, rolling several times.

Guyo warned unscrupulous motorists against using their personal vehicles as PSVs, saying that those caught doing so would be prosecuted. He also cautioned drivers against reckless driving, saying that this would not be tolerated as it put many lives at risk.

On their part, area residents have asked the government to erect bumps along Maralal -Loosuk road so as to contain speeding drivers.

Those were injured are admitted at Samburu County Referral Hospital, with a clinical officer from the facility saying that the accident victims were in stable condition.

The body of the deceased was moved to the hospital’s mortuary.
