Parliament approves nomination of Isaac Ruto, Caroline Nzilani to JSC

The National Assembly Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) has approved the nomination of former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and Caroline Nzilani for appointment to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Former Chepalungu MP Isaac Ruto and Nzilani were nominated by President William Ruto on May 3 to represent Kenyans before the 11-member commission led by Chief Justice Martha Koome.

Their nomination was then communicated to Parliament by Speaker Moses Wetangula ahead of their vetting exercise.

"I wish to convey a message from H.E the President regarding the nomination of persons for appointment as members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC),” Wetangula told the House then.

Following approval by Parliament, the pair will take their oaths of office in the coming days upon which they will then assume office.
