Pharmacy and Poisons Board orders quarantine of cancer management drug

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (“The Board”) has issued a quarantine order for Flurasted 500 (5-Fluorouracil) Injection Batch No. HHP24017 manufactured by Halsted Pharma Private Limited, India.
This quarantine order follows a market complaint concerning appearance parameter of the content. Flurasted 500 (5-Flouorouracil) Injection is used in cancer management.
The Board has advised all pharmaceutical outlets, healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals as well as members of the public to immediately quarantine the product batch and cease further distribution, sale, issuance or use of it.
The Board urges the public to report any suspected cases of substandard medicines or adverse drug reactions to the nearest healthcare facility or directly to the Pharmacy and Poisons Board through the following channels:
