Passengers hoping to take flights to various destinations on Saturday were left high and dry, as a section of pilots under the Kenya Airline Pilots Association (KALPA) made good their threat to go on strike over unresolved grievances.
Some passengers were shocked to find out the situation when they arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), saying they were not alerted about the ongoing crisis.
Others said they missed crucial events as planes remained grounded.
