Plane crash lands in Kwale

A light aircraft on Saturday afternoon crash-landed at Matuga in Kwale County.

The small Cessna Plane carrying one foreigner is reported to have developed mechanical problems before crash landing.

While confirming the incident, Deputy Commissioner Isaac Keter said the plane registrations 5Y-WCA coming from Chyulu Hills and was heading to Ukunda airport in Diani.

Keter said that the South African pilot flying the aircraft sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving treatment.

The exact cause of the crash has not yet been established.

”… Not much destruction has been done to the environment and security will be provided until the area is cleared,” said Keter.
