Police in Kirinyaga County have launched investigations into the murder of a Kirinyaga University student at Kutus trading centre.

According to Mwea East sub--county Police Commander James Mutua, the fourth year student was attacked by unknown people at around 9pm.

“The deceased was accompanied by his two fellow students who raised alarm after he collapsed as he started bleeding on the thigh following the attack,” Mr. Mutua said.

The police boss said they’re pursuing various leads into the death of the university student.

“We have informed his relatives and right now we are waiting for postmortem,” Mr. Mutua added.
