A police officer attached to Central Police Station in Nakuru is among four suspects arrested over alleged involvement in a crime.

Police in Molo nabbed the police officer and another suspect after they were found in possession of 10 kilograms of ivory, a gun, and 30 rounds of ammunition.

The ivory was suspected to be stolen from the Nakuru County Commissioner's office.

Molo Sub-County Police Commander Timon Odingo says they are conducting investigations to ascertain how and why the police officer left the Central Police Station with a gun.

"We arrived at Posta area where members of the public informed us that they had seen suspicious individuals , wananchi wakatuambia wameona watu suspicious wako na bag mbili na wako kwa pikipiki of registration number KMFE 674Z. The two men had a black bag," he said.

"Officers discovered that they had carried 5 ivories."

Two other suspects were arrested over a robbery incident in Molo Town.
