Police officer attached to the Presidential Escort Unit shoots himself dead in Juja

An officer attached to the presidential escort unit has shot himself dead inside the General Service Unit (GSU) camp in Juja, Kiambu County.
Police Constable Samuel Ngatia died by suicide after shooting himself in the head.
A Jericho pistol, 13 rounds of ammunition were recovered by officers who rushed to the scene.
Police also recovered a Tavor sub-machine gun with two magazines loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition each and a magazine loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition from the said house.
"Recovery of Jericho serial number KP 44338526 with 13 rounds of 9 mm; a magazine with 15 rounds of 9 mm and Tavor SMG serial number KP 45806012 with two magazines loaded with 30 rounds of 5.56mm each were all recovered," reads part of the police statement.
The body of the officer has been moved to Kenyatta University Funeral Home.
