Police officer dies by suicide in Marsabit

A police officer died by suicide near his house in Turbi, Marsabit County.

A report filed at the Turbi Police Station on Sunday indicated that another officer saw the deceased’s body hanging from a tree at 6 a.m.

No suicide note was found, and the circumstances surrounding the death could not be immediately established.

“The deceased had been from rehabilitation and resumed duty one month ago,” said the report.

The officer’s body was moved to the Marsabit Referral Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy.
