Police officers busted demanding money for goods delivered to agrovet in Vihiga
A
police officer is in custody while his colleague escaped arrest after they
visited an agrovet in Cheptulu market, Vihiga County, and demanded money meant
for goods delivered to the shopkeeper.
A
police report filed at the Cheptulu Police Station on Saturday says after the
shopkeeper suspected that the two might be conmen, he raised the alarm, where the
OCS visited the store and found them.
“[They]
identified themselves as police officers: one No.96145 PC Nicholas Bor and No.83395
PC Edward Mwangi Karaba all of DCI Narok,” it said.
In
the course of arrest, Constable Karaba fled while Constable Bor was put in
custody after failing to give a satisfactory account of their mission, police
said.
Bor then
alleged that they are both from DCI Suneka in Kisii County and not Narok County
as earlier indicated.
A
search for the missing officer is underway.
