Police probe death of granny who collapsed in Rongo town

Police in Rongo have launched an investigation into the death of a woman aged 77 years who collapsed and died in Rongo town yesterday evening.
Rongo sub-county police commander Salim Fundi said the deceased identified as Peninna Mungari had just lighted from a vehicle to attend to a short call when she collapsed.
Fundi said some passengers rushed her to Rongo sub county hospital for treatment but unfortunately she died on arrival.
He said the body of the deceased has been moved to Rosewood hospital mortuary pending autopsy and police investigations.
The sub-county police commander said they are yet to establish the cause of the death, but suspect that the deceased might have had underlying medical conditions.
