Police question Nyeri MCA in connection with wife’s death

A Nyeri Member of County Assembly (MCA) has been questioned by detectives in connection with his wife’s death.

Konyu Ward MCA Eric Wambumbi spent the better part of Tuesday at the Karatina Police Station a day after the body of his wife Catherine Nyambura was recovered from Hohwe dam in Nyeri County.

According to Mathira West Sub-county Police Commander Jane Nyakeroma, a missing person’s report was filed at the Nyeri police station on the May 24, 2020.

The body of the missing woman identified as Catherine Nyambura was found floating at Hohwe dam on May 25th.

Nyambura is said to have gone missing on the 24th of this month.

The MCA took to social media to eulogize his wife, saying she was the best thing that ever happened to him and that she valued family than anything else on this earth.

Wambumbi said that her passing on left a great emptiness in his life and that of his two sons. The postmortem is expected to be conducted on Wednesday.
