Politicians mourn DP Gachaguas brother Jack Reriani

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s eldest brother, Jack Reriani.

Various political leaders have come out to mourn Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s eldest brother, Jack Reriani, who passed away on Saturday.

DP Gachagua announced Reriani’s demise through a social media post on Sunday morning, without revealing the cause of death.

Among those who have condoled with the deputy president’s family are National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula. Wetangula on Sunday morning sent a message of goodwill to Mr. Gachagua, terming the loss of an elder brother as one of the most devastating experiences.

“Losing an elder brother, especially one who played the role of a parent, is one of the most devastating experiences. My deepest sympathies to you my brother, @rigathi ,your entire family & friends following the loss of you elder brother, Mr.Jack Reriani.May the Lord comfort you,” said Speaker Wetangula.

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale also condoled with Gachagua’s family, saying: “On behalf of my family and the entire Kakamega County @UDAKenya fraternity, I wish to convey our condolences to the family of our Deputy President, @rigathi following the loss of their beloved Jack Rerian.”

On her part,  former Kirinyaaga Woman representative Wangui Ngirici wished DP Gachagua’s family comfort.

“I join fellow Kenyans in mourning the demise of Jack Reriani, the elder brother to H.E Deputy President @rigathi . My family and I send our heartfelt condolences to the entire Gachagua family and pray that God will give you comfort during these hard moments,” tweeted Ngirici.

In the Facebook post eulogising his brother, Gachagua recalled their last moments together and described his brother as a pillar in his who played a pivotal role in his life.

"My eldest bro, Jack Reriani, we spent quality time for three days during our inauguration. You were so happy, jovial and full of life. We shared beautiful moments of our life back in the village," said Gachagua.

"I had the opportunity to thank you for paying my school fees in high school. We agreed on your enhanced role to lead the Kirigo family in view of my National duties. We parted happily and agreed that I would come home after we settle down to discuss family matters", he added.

"Little did I know that those beautiful moments we shared would be our last. The news of your passing on last night hit me hard as I remain alone among the Kirigo sons." 

Gachagua in February 2017 lost his brother Nderitu Gachagua, who was the first governor of Nyeri County.
