President Kenyatta in Vihiga to bid farewell to Mama Hannah Mudavadi

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday joined mourners to bid farewell to the late Mama Hannah Mudavadi.

The family matriarch died on December 28, 2020 while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

Mama Mudavadi, who was born 1928, was the widow to the late Cabinet Minister Moses Mudamba Mudavadi and mother to former Vice President Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi.

The burial ceremony is taking place at her home in Mululu, Vihiga County led by Rev. Aggrey Mukilima and Rev. Abel Onzere of Friends Church.

Mama Hannah went to Kiima Primary School which is now known as Bunyore Girls. She got married in 1946.

She has left behind six children, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mama Hannah has been described as as a devoted, generous and humble matriarch who raised a close-knit family and contributed immensely to the progress of her community.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka are among dignitaries in attendance.

Others are Eugene Wamalwa (Devolution CS), Dr. Wilber Otichilo (Vihiga Governor), Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega Governor) and Gideon Moi (Baringo Senator).
