President Kenyatta ‘legacy team’ PDU unveiled

The newly recruited staff of the President’s Delivery Unit (PDU) are set to begin their official duties having completed their induction program. Nzioka Waita, the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, said they will work alongside various team in the ministries. “It’s a delivery team whose main purpose is to track and report on progress of the Administration’s key projects and programs as well as coordinate dissemination of public information on the status of those key projects,” Waita told Citizen Digital on Thursday. Notable individuals who form the PDU include Nixon Ng’ang’a (former Royal Media Services Managing Editor), Mumbi Warui (ex-Citizen TV Business reporter) and Laban Onserio (former NTV business reporter). Others are Patrick Ngatia (former NEMA Board member), Silvanus Onyango (former Kasipul Kapondo MP), Michael Rotich (former Bomet aspirant) and Boniface Kinoti (former Buuri MP) among others. The 45-member team held an induction session at the Kenya School of Government in Embu on Wednesday. They are also expected to work with county commissioners as they track delivery of National Government Programs at the county level. According to the PDU website, it was established in 2015, as a centre of government functions based in the Office The President. The group joins State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena who was appointed to the President’s Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU) in June.
