Ruto is on the second and final day of his Nyanza tour.
Ruto on Friday evening arrived at the lake side city of Kisumu on day one of his tour of three Nyanza counties.
President Ruto landed at the Kisumu port some minutes past 5pm and was received by Governor Anyang’ Nyongo and County Commissioner Josephine Ouko.
The agenda of the meeting was development plans for Nyanza region.
Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o and his Migori counterpart, Ochilo Ayako, were present.
According to a legislator who attended the meeting and sought anonymity, the President called for a cordial working relationship with his government for the benefit of citizens.
Kisumu leaders led by Nyong'o, Senator Tom Ojienda, MPs Jared Okello (Nyando), Shakeel Shabbir (Kisumu East), Joshua Oron (Kisumu Central), Onyango Koyoo (Muhoroni), Dr James Nyikal (Seme) presented to the President a list of development projects they want completed.
The leaders listed the Kisumu-Kakamega-Mamboleo-Miwani road project which has stalled and called for Ruto's intervention to have it completed to boost transport activities with neighbouring counties, including Nandi.
