President William Ruto says Kenya is keen on strengthening relations and fast-tracking labour agreements with Germany to enhance labour mobility.

Ruto observed that structured migration will stem illegal relocation, adding that it will also give Kenyans more opportunities to work in Germany.

The Head of State made the remarks on Monday during a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the sidelines of G20 Compact with Africa Investment Summit in Berlin.

The two leaders agreed on the significance of directing investments toward Africa, appreciating its competitiveness.

Chancellor Scholz lauded Kenya’s role in capacity building and support in the upcoming elections in DRC Congo and South Sudan.

The German Chancellor committed to assisting Kenya in the Haiti Mission.

President Ruto asked for Chancellor Scholz's support for Germany in advocating for reforms in the International Financial Architecture to address the debt crisis affecting nations in the Global South.
