President Ruto to host Eritrean President for bilateral talks

In a statement to newsrooms, State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said President Ruto and President Afwerki will hold bilateral talks at State House, Nairobi on Thursday, February 9.
"The official visit presents an opportunity for the two countries to reinvigorate their bilateral relations and explore areas of mutual cooperation, including agriculture, trade and investment, air transport, energy and mining," the statement reads in part.
Talks between the two leaders will also centre around education, tourism, security and the blue economy.
"Kenya and Eritrea enjoy warm and cordial relations premised on a common desire for peaceful co-existence and national development for the mutual benefit of both countries and their neighbourhood in the Horn of Africa," said the State House spokesperson.
