Homa Bay: Probe on after body of a Form One student found floating in a dam

The body was discovered floating in the water on Sunday by a local resident who had gone to the dam to fetch water before alerting the public.

Confirming the incident, the area senior chief Samuel Owago said they have not yet established the circumstances surrounding the student’s death and how she ended up at the dam.

Speaking to Radio Ramogi on phone, Mr Owago said preliminary investigations reveal that the girl was last seen on Thursday evening with an unidentified man before she disappeared.

He says that the body had bruises on her face, according to police officers who retrieved it from the water. 

The body has been moved to the Homa Bay Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
