Prof. Makau Mutua honoured among world’s top scholars in 2024 rankings

President William Ruto’s Constitutional Affairs Advisor Prof. Makau Mutua has once again cemented his place in the global academic arena, having been named a 2024 Top Scholar by ScholarGPS, a prestigious platform that tracks and ranks scholarly excellence worldwide.
In an email
communication to Prof. Mutua, ScholarGPS lauded his “outstanding performance”
and “strong publication record,” placing him among the top 0.5% of all scholars
globally.
This elite
recognition is drawn from a comprehensive database comprising over 30 million
scholar profiles and 120,000 institutional profiles.
Prof. Mutua earned
notable rankings in two major fields: he was ranked position 295 globally in
General Law, and 46 worldwide in Human Rights.
ScholarGPS
categorizes its honorees into two top tiers: Highly Ranked Scholars™,
who fall in the top 0.05% globally, and Top Scholars, those whose work
ranks within the top 0.5%.
This recognition
is yet another feather in the cap of the former Dean of the University at
Buffalo Law School and ex-professor at SUNY Buffalo Law.
