Woman wants Kenya Power compensation after fire guts down her houses

Property of unknown value was Saturday evening destroyed after a fire burnt down two houses in Kapkiamu village, Baringo North.

According to reports, the fire started at about 4 pm razing down two houses and household properties that included electronics.

The houses belong to a widow who apparently was not around when the incident happened.

John Kandie, a relative to the widow, told Citizen TV that the fire could have been caused by electric fault, a claim that was supported by area Assistant Chief Isaac Cheminget.

“The fire might have been caused by electricity since there was no one in the house when the fire razed down the timbered house,” Kandie said.

He has called on Kenya Power Company to compensate the woman.
