Kanyenyaini Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Grace Nduta, along with three other suspects, has been arraigned over alleged involvement in the suspected stage-managed abduction of Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi.

The plot is also believed to have involved an attempt by security officers to prevent his arrest.

The prosecution has requested that the MCA be detained for 14 days as investigations continue. They are also seeking to detain the other three suspects for 15 days.

However, the defence lawyers opposed the application, arguing that the suspects should be released on bail.

They maintained that their continued freedom would not interfere with ongoing investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The court is expected to issue a ruling on whether the suspects will be released or remain in custody by 2:30 p.m.

On Thursday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) released a statement claiming that Nduta spent the entire night of May 25, 2025 with Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi at a bar in Gatundu South when the lawmaker had claimed that he had been abducted.
