The Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr Ouma Oluga, on Wednesday paid a courtesy call to Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga ahead of the official opening and handover of the Narumoru and Karatina Maternal and Newborn Units.

The engagement, according to the Ministry of Health, comes as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen maternal and newborn healthcare services through improved infrastructure and enhanced service delivery across the county.

The Narumoru and Karatina facilities are expected to boost access to specialised maternal services, including maternity and newborn care, and ease pressure on other health facilities in the region.

The handover ceremony is set to bring together national and county health officials as the two levels of government continue collaboration in the rollout of health projects.
