Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has reiterated that the government will arrest and arraign the suspects behind the killing of Kasipul Member of Parliament Ongondo Were.

The PS warned politicians in Homa Bay County against perpetrating political violence.

Speaking in Rangwe constituency on Saturday, Omollo said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is in the advanced stage of their investigations following the assassination of Were after they identified potential suspects in the murder of the legislator.

According to the PS, DCI have already narrowed down on persons who pulled the trigger and in due course the suspects and their accomplices will face the law.

He told Homa Bay politicians to deist from propagating political violence and quell political tension in the area.

Were was shot dead on Thursday evening on Ngong Road in Nairobi. The assailants, who were on a motorcycle immediately fled the scene and are yet to be identified.
