Interior Principal Secretary Dr Raymond Omollo has said the time allocated for the public to view the body of the late Raila Odinga, currently at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu's Mamboleo area, might be extended past the planned initial 3:00 pm deadline.

Speaking at the stadium, Dr Omollo noted that this is due to the overwhelming number of mourners turning up to pay their last respects to the former ODM leader.

Omollo pointed out that the idea is to have everyone at the stadium have an opportunity to pay their last respects to the fallen leader.

He lauded the mourners for being orderly, adding that the security officers on site will ensure that everything goes as planned and that any ugly scenes are minimised.

Omollo added that after the viewing, Odinga's body will be flown to Bondo for an overnight stay at Opoda, adding that adequate security arrangements have already been made to ensure Raila Odinga receives a befitting burial.

Raila will be buried on Sunday at a private ceremony in Bondo, Siaya, after a funeral service at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST).
