While adressing mourners at the burial on Saturday, Azimio leader Raila Odinga waded into the issue following President William Ruto's recent remarks on sugar cartels.
Raila termed the remarks "unfortunate and unbecoming", coming from the Head of State.
He at the same time said he's neither interested in 'nusu mkate' nor a slice, maintaining that he was the rightful winner of the August 2022 polls.
Raila accused COTU Secretary General FrancisAtwoli of abandoning the plight of Kenyan workers and instead choosing to work with the government of the day.
He said Atwoli should have been at the forefront of leading the anti- goverment protests in unison with suffering Kenyans.
Atwoli dismissed Raila's sentiments, saying the opposition should accept Ruto's victory and move on.
At some point Atwoli and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi engaged in an altercation over who should invite the Azimio leader to the podium, a situation that led to Atwoli to grab the microphone from Osotsi.
Prime Cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who was present, rallied his support behind Atwoli, saying nobody should attack him for his stand, adding that elections ended one year ago and therefore he is free to work with the government of the day.
On the Mumias sugar saga, Mudavadi said it's unfortunate that the opposition is attacking President Ruto "for fighting corruption in the sugar sector".
