Raila Faults War on Graft Minus EACC Commissioners
Raila urged the government to replace the EACC commissioners to ensure the war against corruption succeeds without legal challenges.
Speaking after a Sunday service at the Nairobi Pentecostal Church Valley Road, the former prime minister drummed up support for the Okoa Kenya referendum initiative, saying the government has failed to address historical injustices and insecurity.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) was left handicapped following the resignation of suspended chairman Mumo Matemu and his deputy Irene keino after Parliament voted for their ouster.
Another commissioner, Jane Onsongo, had resigned earlier in March citing pressure from outsiders on her work at the EACC.
