Opposition leader Raila Odinga left the country for the United Kingdom on Thursday morning.

Mr Odinga, according to his spokesperson Dennis Onyango, is set to deliver a keynote address at the University of Oxford where he was invited by the Oxford Africa Society.

“At the annual event, Mr. Odinga will deliver a lecture titled: Forging Africa's Future: A Journey of Resilience and Renewal,” said Onyango in a statement to newsrooms.

In his address, Mr. Odinga is expected to discuss “Africa's trajectory of resilience and renewal, offering insights from his extensive experience in public service and advocacy.”

“His address will feature key themes like political stability, economic growth, equity, democracy and social cohesion while highlighting stories of resilience and examples of renewal from across Africa,” added Onyango.

The former Prime Minister will also touch on his bid for African Union Commission chairmanship in his address.

Odinga was accompanied for the Oxford University event by Prof. Makau Mutua and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Nyando MP Jared Okello.
